A real sailing adventure that turns into a leadership laboratory — where teams find their synchronization, their trust, and their superpowers.
In 2014, Joachim Löw, the legendary head coach of Germany's national football team, took an unconventional approach to preparing his squad for the World Cup. Instead of standard training, he put the players on a sailing yacht — under the expert guidance of another legend, the explorer Mike Horn.
Löw was guided by something simple but brilliant: his team would not win if the players didn't learn to work together. Far from the pitch, they were forced to communicate, coordinate, and rely on one another to succeed.
The result? After a final against Argentina that ended 1:0, Germany became world champions of 2014.
Teams inside organizations are just like a football team. Without synchronization, without clearly defined roles, and without trust, victories are hard to come by. That's why we created our programme, “My Superpowers.”
Germany's national team trained on a sailing yacht before the tournament — then went on to win it all.
At the heart of the service is a diagnostic of team dynamics and a role analysis. Through it, the following goals can be achieved:
Sailing creates situations that transfer easily into corporate reality — with the difference that aboard a yacht, people test themselves in a real environment that lets them push their limits and discover their greatest superpowers.
We accompany participants on a genuine adventure where being part of a team is essential. Aboard the yacht, everyone carries individual responsibility for the goal — yet it can't be reached without everyone else's help. Sound familiar?
We help participants analyze their behavior, become aware of their skill level, and carry these new realizations into their everyday work context.
We analyze your needs and build an individual solution on that basis.
We take care of the entire "simulation" — the sailing itself — and everything it requires.
We accompany participants throughout the adventure: our team handles safety, group dynamics, and records observations against pre-defined criteria.
At the start and end of each day on board, we hold sessions to share and analyze the experience, alongside an introduction to sailing theory.
We assess key competencies from the information gathered — expert evaluation, self-assessment, and peer assessment can all be included.
We analyze everything collected and deliver an individual feedback report to each participant, plus a summary report for the client.
Sailing isn't just an adventure — it's the best activity for recreating team dynamics. It replaces the simulations used in standard assessment centers, and it does it better, because the roles are authentic: there's no need to build an artificial environment to provoke certain behaviors. Underway, every crew member has a role, communication is critical, cooperation is too, and decisions must be made quickly and effectively.
Who steps up, how, and when — observed in a live setting, not a hypothetical.
Coordinating with a crew of diverse roles and expertise toward one shared goal.
Adjusting plans as wind, weather, and circumstance shift beneath a fixed goal.
Choosing quickly and effectively in new situations, with real stakes.
To guarantee participants' safety and enjoyment, we work with experienced skippers who introduce them to the secrets of sailing and handle the yacht in a way suited to the crew's level.
